Service account management.

Creating service user

For specific needs of Data Care Department please do NOT choose your username such, that begins with VO_, e.g. service user account backup for VO_xyz should have login xyz_backup. The rule that all logins should have lower case letters based on US alphabet (i.e. without special characters, which are presented in some special languages) is very important as well.

First you need to login into Perun system. Perun system.

After logging in you need to choose Access management (1) in the left menu. Then you can insert the name of your VO (2) or you can straight click on your VO (3) in the list below.

In the detail of your VO, you need to click on the Service accounts (1) tile.

Then in the following page, you need to click on the Create… (1) button.

The next step is to fill in the Account name and Email field. In the end, you can click on the Next (1) button.

The next step is to fill in the Namespace choose the EINFRA namespace from the drop-down menu and Login field. Next, mark Set password now and fill in the password in the Password field and enter the same value in the Confirm password. In the end, you can click on the Next (1) button.

After checking the user with whom the user account of the service will be associated, you can click on the Next (1) button.

Associated users
If necessary, it is possible to associate another user identity to the service user. Due to technical reasons is this way strongly recommended.

Please insert the name, surname, email or login of the user with who you wish to associate the created service account and then click on the Search button. Select your user from the search results and select Add.

In the end, you can click on the Create (1) button.

Adding a service user to a group

The created service user must join the already created group

In the detail of your VO, you need to click on the Groups (1) tile.

The next step is to fill in the Search by name, id. description field and after showing the group list, you can select desired one.

In the detail of your Group, you need to click on the Members (1) tile.

Then you can click at the Add (1) button.

The next step is to fill in the Search user by name login or email and after showing our service user in the list you can tick it. In the end, you can click on the Add (1) button.

All changes made in the Perun system will be active in one hour. These executed changes are not immediate!
