Sending an Invitation to Join the VO

This howto demonstrates how to easily invite a user to join your Virtual Organisation (VO). Note that this mechanism invites users to apply for membership. Depending on VO setup, if the criteria for membership are evaluated automatically, they are still evaluated. If manual membership approval is set up, an application for manual approval will be created, VO manager (or membership manager) notified and requested to evaluate the application, etc.

Do not confuse sending invitations with sending “pre-approved invitations”, those are available in some repository systems (technically speaking, those are approved immediately after the application is created).

How to create invitations to join a virtual organisation

First, log in to the Perun system.

Once logged, select Access management (1) from the left menu. You can then either enter the name of your VO (2) or click directly on your VO (3) from the list below.

In your VO details, click on the User (1) tile.

On the next page, click the Invite (1) button.

Next, fill in the Name and Email field, then select the preferred Language option. Finally, click the Invite (1) button. Once clicked the Invite (1) button, a notification will be sent to the specified email address.

Dear user,

administrator of Virtual Organization (VO) VO_xyz invites you to use data space in this VO. To become a member of VO, you must fill in an application. You must authenticate yourself using following link:
